since 1975...
The Mercury Cafe was a welcoming source of art, joy, and community, located in the heart of downtown Denver. In addition to their locally-sourced, organic food, The Merc also offered a wide variety of entertainment. From poetry slams, to Go Club, to live music, and dancing nearly every night of the week, there was always something happening in Denver's bohemian jewel.
Marilyn Megenity, the creator of the original Mercury Cafe, had a passion and support for the arts that continue to this day. Because of her and the subsequent owners, we’ve been able to hold the majority of our classes and dances there for the past 20 years!
Since the Merc closed, we’ve been on the road with “Mercury Cafe On Tour!” We’ve been at venues all over town and are grateful to Cervantes, Broomfield Crescent Grange, The Denver Press Club, Denver Comedy Underground, Forney Museum of Transportation, Lakewood Elks #1777, Stanley Marketplace, and others for hosting us! Check out our calendar for all of the current locations!
Our big nights are Tuesdays and Sundays... come check them out!
