Thursday Recap: Week 3 December

Beginner Lindy Hop

We had a fun start to class where everyone shared their earliest personal dance memories: everything from impromptu living room performances to the Cha Cha Slide to stickers on the bottom of tap shoes for a job well done!

This week we continued our exploration of the Basics of Lindy hop with more connection work and movement.  We added the Circle to Closed Position and the Groucho to our repertoire.

We hope you're looking forward to this upcoming week where guest instructor Freeman Bacon will lead the class with Dani!

Intermediate Lindy Hop

...we continued on with our Charleston theme!  We played again with our Swing Outs, adding that Charleston flair, and worked on our Hand to Hand Charleston: with O'er the Tops on each side.  It's good to be reminded that anything you can do on one side, you can do on the other, and if you put in the practice to do so, it will make you a much more versatile dancer.

Dance

It was the beginning of our holiday rush!  We also had good reason for it, with DJ's Lark Mervine & Anthony Carusiello, performances by both The Diamond Dolls and Boulder Swing Dance's Flatiron Stompers, and a ton of good cheer in the air.

This Thursday is our Holiday Party (the 22nd)!  Wear your bad sweaters and wrap up/re-wrap a gift to participate in the White Elephant Gift Exchange... there will be one present with $50 cash inside, but we're most excited for the Merc's homemade egg nog!  See you soon!
